About Dr. Jodi Forcey Porter and Forcey Chiropractic Center:

Dr. Jodi Forcey Porter first became interested in chiropractic when she was a child.  At five years of age she began chiropractic care for headaches and allergies.  Once she began getting adjusted, the headaches became less frequent and severe and she no longer needed to take allergy medication.

During Dr. Jodi’s freshman year in college, she decided to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.  She knew that she wanted to help people get well without the use of medications and surgery, and chiropractic was the perfect healing art to do just that!

Dr. Jodi opened her practice, Forcey Chiropractic Center, on April 15, 1996 at 723 Don Street, Houtzdale.  The property at 705 Good Street, Houtzdale was purchased in September 1998 and construction for the new office commenced in November.  The new office opened April 1, 1999 at 706 Spruce Alley where it is located today.

Since 1996 Dr. Forcey Porter has seen young and old alike.  Many people do not realize that newborn babies may receive chiropractic care just as a twenty or fifty-year-old person can.  Also, senior citizens can be adjusted.  Chiropractic care is safe for all ages because the delivery of the adjustment is personalized for each individual who enters the office for care.  The chiropractic adjustment is a specific force delivered in a precise manner as to correct the vertebral subluxation (a stuck spinal bone that may be causing a serious nerve interference).  Many vertebral subluxations are painless and may go undetected for many years.

We are committed to giving quality care at an affordable price for everyone who enters our doors and who wants to obtain maximum life potential.  In so doing, the Insight 7000 Subluxation Station – the latest in computerized technology - is utilized in detecting and correcting the vertebral subluxation.  The Sub-Station measures skin temperature changes along the spine (Thermography) and it also measures the amount of electrical current from the nerves to the muscles (Surface Electromyography – SEMG).

The Sub-Station benefits you because you can actually see the effect of a subluxation on your body, and we can monitor your progress and “tailor” your program of chiropractic adjustments to meet your specific health needs.

There are three major principles of chiropractic:

  1. God gave our body the ability to heal itself.
  2. The brain and nervous system control and coordinate all the functions of the body including the immune system.
  3. Loss of spinal alignment or function will interfere with the normal function of the nervous system and cause ill health.

Chiropractic adjustments restore normal function and allow the body to work towards its optimum potential, physically, mentally and socially.
